Welcome to Rubotham.com
This is me, and this is my site.
My official name is Andrew Peter Rubotham, though it's unlikely anybody reading this ever calls me that.
If you're family then you'll know me as Andy.
If you're a friend and/or a work colleague then you'll know me as Spike.
You can find out why my nickname is Spike, and many other fascinating details about me,
by clicking on my 'Biography' link.
If on the other hand you quite rightly couldn't care less about my life, then there are plenty of other
things for you to click.
This site will contain an eclectic mix of anything I happened to have an interest in.
Mostly it will be music as I enjoy listening to it, and you will see I have a varied taste.
I will list my collection for all to see, which in itself would be extremely dull for anybody who's not me,
but the lists will contain lyrics,
and the albums will also be rated so you can get my meaningless opinion before you buy!
I will also link to anything funny I find on the Web. Please visit the best of Weebl's Stuff
and the other Flash Anims Links pages as there are some classics.
The site is called Rubotham.Com because I plan to let other members of my family have their little section.
Whether they want to or not is entirely up to them.
For the moment it's just my name up there in the 'Home Pages' section.
This site uses frames to show the navigation panel on the left.
If you ever find yourself without it just click on the Rubotham.Com logo at the top of the screen.
The life and times of a web-site
This bit is to let you know what's new. The last update of this page was 24th July 2007. There now follows a brief history.
Screen Resolution
24th July 2007
Just a quick update. Not much has changed over the last year, aside from a few additions to the
singles / albums list. This update is mainly to add a link to my
MySpace
page, which someone convinced me to set up.
16th June 2006
Well, it's been ages since an update so here goes...
Singles list updated with lyrics
Albums list updated.
Links on my Weebl tribute page changed as he has moved stuff on his site
Cars page updated as I'm buying a new one
A couple of extra Salad Fingers
links added to the Flash animations link page
15th October 2005
A long awaited updated to this site after many months of experimenting with the php site. One day I will use my
knowledge to create a php scripted version of this site. For now though, I have updated
my singles list and
my albums list, as well as updating the links to the
Weebl and Bob amimations page.
I should really update the picture of me too, as the one shown was just after I had my hair cut.
It's now grown again to as long as it was when I had it cut.
27th November 2004
Gwen Stefani's debut single added to the collection.
Also, a new index page added to give me (any anyone else who cares)
access to my experimental PHP/MySQL site, as well as my home webcam.
3rd October 2004
Reviews and lyrics added for the two Depeche Mode singles collections I've just bought.
1981 to 1985, and
1986 to 1998.
16th September 2004
Some new links added. More
Weebl and Bob
stories, a new
Goth Girl
, and a creepy set of animations called
'Salad Fingers'.
24th July 2004
Three new singles from
Britney,
Blink182
and
Morrissey.
Also Morrissey's album
'You are the quarry'.
Weebl and Bob have been transferred to a new page with my favourites of Weebl's work. "Magical Trevor" being the latest.
Update: The christmas decoration are now in the attic.
15th March 2004
Two new singles added. Can't be arsed to link to them, just visit my singles page.
Flash animation page updated with new Weebl and Bob stories, and a new Little Goth Girl animated .gif
Took off the xmas card page. It's only three months overdue.
A bit like the decorations that are still sitting in a bag waiting to be put in the attic.
I'm lazy. So sue me.
14th December 2003
More music to the lists. A couple of new singles in the form of
'Bill McCai' by The Coral
and
'Shut up' by The Black Eyed Peas
, and an album in the form of Muse's 'Absolution' for which there is no page yet.
Also updated the
Weebl and Bob
links with all the latest stories.
1st October 2003
I have been updating bit and pieces, but I haven't published for a while, so this is a collection of
various updates. Some new singles, some new albums, some new/updated links and an updated cars page.
Also I've added some links to the anims on Weebls site, most notably the Badger one which seems to have swept across
the net like a very catchy plague lately.
25th June 2003
I have at last received my new Mini. So I have updated my
cars
page. Also links to some new
Weebl
and
Goth Girl
anims added.
17th June 2003
A page of my old and current
cars
added to the biography section.
16th June 2003
Music: Girls Aloud's album
Sound of the underground (not yet rated)
, and Evanescence's single
Bring me to life.
Links: A few more
Weebl and Bob
anims.
22nd April 2003
Mel C's tragic new album 'Reason' added. Read the (not very favourable) review
here.
Also, I've worked out the correct order of the first of my singles, which is of
absolutely no interest whatsoever to anybody, and just goes to show that I have way too much free time.
Not as much free time as Jolt Picking it seems, as there there are new
Weebl and Bob stories on the
flash anims list. And also a long awaited new
Little Goth Girl story from the Other Side.
16th March 2003
Melanie C takes the honour of providing my 200th single with
'Here it comes again'.
A week later saw the arrival of 201. I've always preferred Kylie, but the first Minogue in my singles collection
turns out to be Danni, with
'I begin to wonder'.
Don't worry Kylie, you're still ahead in my albums list!
Some other bits and pieces updated too, but nothing major.
2nd March 2003
Linkin Park's 'In The End' added to my singles collection,
the album ratings guide moved to a separate screen, a new Weebl and Bob story link, and this bit turned into a table.
23rd February 2003
Two more days added to the Blackpool journal.
18th February 2003
Singles list updated to include
Lose Yourself by Eminem.
The journal for my recent trip to London added to the Journals. Third day of the Blackpool journal added.
2nd February 2003
Basic ground work for the Journals put in place with some fancy maps and stuff.
Now all I have to do is arduously type in all the entries.
I've done a couple of Blackpool days and some of the Scotland trip so far.
29th January 2003
Strindberg and Helium added to flash anims page
28th January 2003
New page added for my favourite Flash animation sites.
Links page updated and moved.
Side panel moved to a new 'menu' folder, which may or may not get used for a new menu structure.
Side panel is now resizable.
19th January 2003
Three new singles added to the list, complete with lyrics.
Sound of the underground,
Sk8er boi, and
Family portrait.
The debut album by t.A.T.u,
200 km/h in the wrong lane,
is added to the albums list, with a review and all the lyrics (including the Russian versions!).
They got lost by TMBG has had a review / lyrics added.
11th January 2003
Home page updated with new description and new picture showing new haircut. Yes, I've got rid of the ponytail!
I've added a link to Ricci's site
and already the comment on it about me is out of date. Ha ha!
Talking of the Links page, that has been updated with new links and snazzy new pictures.
This site is best viewed in 1024 x 768. I know you're supposed to design web pages for 800 x 600, but if you
haven't got a computer / graphics card / monitor capable of displaying at least 1024x768 then frankly I've no
sympathy for you.
Font
I happened to like the "Tahoma" font, which is why I've designed this site with that in mind. If you haven't
got the tahoma font then that's something I can help you with.
Windows users, click this link and run the file to install the font.
Mac users, here is the file but don't ask me what you do with it!
The font used for the headers and titles is "Margaret Regular", available
here for Windows users only
Hit Counter
Thanks to the nice people at WebCounter, whose logo I am obliged to show here...
...I can tell you that this site has been accessed
times. Although 99% of them were probably me.
Notice how I've allowed 5 digits for the total. Call me an eternal optimist.
